In the era of knowledge economy, group creativity is very important to the development of organizations. How to promote group creativity has already become the hot issue of current researches. In the process of group creativity, there is always complicated interaction among members, through which members obtain new information and generate new ideas, thus influencing group creativity. However,in existing studies, the results of whether interaction can improve group creativity are inconsistent. One reason for the inconsistency may be that there is no consideration of interactive ways.Brainstorming, the most common form of interaction, requires group members to combine and improve other people's ideas, but this may impair the autonomy of group members, thus impeding group creativity. However, few studies have focused on this,so it is necessary to explore the influence of interactive ways on group creativity. At the same time, previous studies have also failed to consider the role of trust in interaction and group creativity.Different levels of group trust will lead to different interactive effect and then affect group creativity. Therefore, when studying interaction and group creativity,it is necessary to consider the interaction of interactive ways and trust.Based on?this, this study used functional near-infrared spectroscopy(fNIRS)technology to explore how trust and interactive ways influence group creativity and its cognitive and neural mechanism. In this study,we used brainstorming to measure group creativity, and trust game to activate trust,in order to explore the influence of trust on group creativity under different interactive ways and the inter brain synchronization(IBS)among members in this process. In experiment 1,we mainly investigated the influence of interactive ways and trust on group creativity from the perspective of behavior. This study was a 2(interactive way:freedom&compulsion)×2(trust level:high&low)inter-subject design.Interactive way and trust level were independent variables, scores of the creative task were dependent variables.A total of 88 undergraduates were randomly selected to participate in this experiment, and two of them formed a group, forming a total of 44 groups.First,we used trust game to activate different trust levels(high vs low)of dyads, then assigned them to different modes of interaction(freedom vs constraint)through instructions, finally completed creativity tasks. The results showed that,in the high-trust condition, free interaction was more likely to promote group creativity than compulsive interaction, but in the low-trust condition, there was no significant difference between two interactive ways.Similarly,high-trust groups were more creative then low-trust groups under free interaction, but there was no significant difference between two trust levels under compulsive interaction. These results suggested that trust and interactive ways can collectively influence group creativity. In experiment 2,we mainly investigated the inter-brain synchronization(IBS)and creativity performance of group members with different levels of trust in the process of completing creativity tasks under different ways of interaction.Compared with experiment 1,we added IBS as the dependent variable.A total of 160 undergraduates who had not participated in experiment 1 were randomly selected to participate in this experiment, and two of them formed a group, forming a total of 80 groups. On the basis of experiment 1,we used fNIRS-based hyperscanning device to synchronously record the IBS when dyads were completing creative tasks. The behavior results were similar to the results of experiment 1.The fNIRS results revealed that when under free interaction,high-trust dyads showed a significantly enhanced of IBS at frontopolar cortex and right temporal-parietal junction(r-TPJ)during creative tasks, but did not occur under compulsive interaction.Low-trust dyads did not show IBS enhancement in both interactive ways.In addition, the IBS at frontopolar cortex and r-TPJ in high-trust dyads when interacting freely was positively correlated with group creative performance. These results indicated that free interaction and group trust contribute to the improvement of group creativity. In summary,in the process of group interaction, not only need free interaction, but also need mutual trust among group members,in order to truly improve group creativity.High-trust groups meet the needs of relationship and autonomy in free interaction,so these groups have the highest creativity. At the same time,we use hyperscanning technique to explore the thinking interactions among group members and how to improve group creativity from the perspective of inter brain synchronization.
