A Study On The Relationship Of Internet Addiction Tendency, Preference Of Internet Uasge And Life Events In Vocational College Nursing Students

The use of the internet makes people feel convenience and rapidity in the information era, people get access to information through the network, making friends and purchasing goods. Along with the continuous development of network, the negative influence of it on people’s lives are slowly revealed, the irrational use of network leads to IAD (Internet Addiction Disorder, or IAD), which is a hot research problem in recent years both at home and abroad. This paper primarily investigated the current situation of IAD tendencies in vocational college nursing students and the nexus among IAD tendencies, preference of Internet usage and life events. The research examined 700 vocational college nursing students in Changzhou with "Chinese internet addiction scale", "adolescent life events scale" and "network preference questionnaire", to understood the generally situation of IAD tendencies, analyzed the relationship among IAD tendencies, preference of internet usage and life events.The results showed that:First, the proportion of high IAD tendencies students was 13.5%, the overall level was high. The differences of IAD tendencies was not significant in males and females; while non-only-child students’ total scores were significantly higher than only child students, and grade 3 students have higher IAD tendencies.Second, there was no remarkable differences in Network age and there were significant differences in the average time online every day, the longer the average time online every day, the higher IAD tendencies was.Third, there were significant differences between groups with higher and lower tendencies of IAD in each factor of life events and total score. That showed high IAD tendencies of nursing students experienced more negative life events.Fourth, high IAD tendencies of nursing students was significantly higher than low group in the score of social tools, entertainment tools and trading tools, showed that high IAD tendencies of nursing students prefer social, entertainment and trading tools.Fifth, Positive prediction factor of nursing students’ IAD tendencies were social and trading tools in the network preferences, interpersonal relationship and other factors of life events scale. Negative prediction factor of nursing students’ IAD tendencies was information channel preference.Finally, other factors in life events scale had partial intermediation between the social, entertainment, trading tools preferences and IAD tendencies...
