The linguistic turn which originated from Western Philosophy in the twentieth century, not only achieved a change in philosophical research topic, but also directly spawned the study of semiotics. Linguistic turn gives rise to the booming semiotics, and widely influences the contemporary Western philosophy and the whole of Western thinking and Western societies. Early theories of semiotics mainly focused on symbolic logic analysis, and in the times of Cassirer, the symbol was summarized to be human contact and cultural activities, which also referred to all forms of culture of human creation. Susan Lange accepted the concept of cultural symbols Cassirer, and applied it mainly into his artistic theory, and as a result, semiotic aesthetics was created.In this paper, we sort out Susan Langer’s aesthetic theory, and sign language and explore the article intension of the statement written as "Art is the creation of symbolic forms of human emotions" through comparing language symbols and art symbols. Following this research thoughts, this paper is divided into four parts.The first chapter is the theoretical background of comb symbol. Susan Lange clearly distinguished he distinction between signal and symbol, and pointed out that the language symbols and artistic symbols are symbols of two main dimensions of the human spirit activities. The second chapter, Susan Lange explored the symbolic form of rational thinking, language symbols. Chapter III, Susan Lange explored symbolic form emotional thinking, and artistic symbols. Chapter IV, Susan Lange explore the internal logic of the relationship between language and art, that art that is the symbol of the creation of human emotion. The conclusion summarizes the aesthetic Susan Lange’s theory of semiotics. Her aesthetic theory of semiotics absorbs the strong point of both traditional and modern Western aesthetics, improves and systematizes semiotics in the field of art philosophy, and develops the art theory to a new level.
