Food And Music:Study Of Symbols And Order

Both diet and music are two ritual symbols that are indistinguishable and exist in the ritual.Chenzhou Nuo opera as the existing traditional art form,plays a very important role in the local people's social life.This article tries to take the intersection and integration of diet and music culture as the starting point,based on the author's field investigation of Chenzhou Nuo opera music in Qijiaping Township,Yuanling County.The author intends to explore the interaction between the dietary symbols and musical symbols in the rituals,and to explore the important role played by the relationship between the reproduction of human life and the maintenance of harmonious social order used the study methods from symbolism,symbolic anthropology,dietary anthropology,Ethnomusicology and other multidisciplinary theory.In this paper,the analysis for Chenzhou Nuo opera art is explored around two different research objects-dietary symbols and musical symbols.The author attempts to mine the cultural connotation from a certain degree of interpretation and analysis of the Chenzhou Nuo opera dietary symbols.For the musical symbols,the analysis is unfolded from the aspects of singing and instrumental music and acquires the cognitive and feeling of Chenzhou Nuo opera,accompanied with the interpretation of those elements such as sound,sound,instrument,shape and rhythm abounding in the performance of Chenzhou Nuo opera.After the explaining and analyzing the "dietary symbols" and "musical symbols" of Chenzhou Nuo opera alone,the author combines the two perspectives of "diet" and "music" together to discuss the further excavated and explained the deeper cultural meaning rooted in the local folk culture of Chenzhou Nuo.The discussion starts from two aspects which are "man and nature,and "human society relationship".Finally the author argues that the meaning of the"order" is a core values which is characterized by the play-the order of the harmony between man and nature,and the harmonious social order between man and man.
