A Case Study Of The Conception Of Novel History

The study of the conception of novel history is a place of strategic importance in the study of literature history. The conception of novel history is the basic rudder in writing. It also determines the basic cognitive and value orientation to the compilers. Retrospect the basic situations on the compiling in20th century, we can find that it has a obvious relationship with the literature trends in the specific time. In1920s, the evolutionary conception of literature history was the whole world. Although there were many queries in it, such as the School of Express Aspiration and the School of Deliver Ethics which were mentioned by Zhou Zuo-ren, they were hard going in that situation. In1950s to1970s, the support of Historical Materialism, emphasizing the clues of People’s Character and Realism played the most important role in the complexion. So other queries disappeared. In1990s, it finally made the leaps, it had been divorced from the USSR into the USA. The literary theory of the USSA was not all parts at all. It began to draw lessons from the burgeoning literary criticism in Occident in order to overview the development of Chinese literature history. The new methods in study were deluged with the Academic Research, the Product Analysis, the Text Reading, the Text Analysis etc. It also began to walk into the aggiornamento and construct the historical process about the communications between World Literature and National Literature. In this period, the conception was rather complex, and still kept the condition of vague or suspension, so there was not a dominant idea.This article will take these three time crunodes as the ambit, choose three outstanding books as the paradigm so as to find out the swerve of nationality and noumenal in the conception of novel history in20th century. In1920s, the book, The Brief History of Chinese Fiction by Lu Xun, holds the view that it is the history of the stype evolution. In1970s, the book, Chinese Novel History by School of Literature in Peking University, holds the idea that it is the history of reflecting the social existence. In1990s, the book, Classical Chinese Novel History by Yang Yi, holds the view that it is the history of the transmutation of narrative patterns.
