ShiJi plays a distinctly important role both in the history of historiography and oflanguage. There are many people, past and present, home and abroad, havingannotated for ShiJi. However, the extant and more complete ancient annotationsremained only ShiJiJiJie by Pei Yin in Liu Song Dynasty of Nan Bei Dynasty Period,ShiJiSuoYin by Sima Zhen and ShiJiZhengYi by Zhang Shoujie in Tang Dynasty, which are known as ShiJi “SanJiaZhu”.“SanJiaZhu” not only removed readingobstacles for later generations’ study of ShiJi but also provided rich exegesisinformation for their study of the development of exegetics in Han&Tang Dynasties. They are a rare exegetics heritage. The thesis mainly makes a comparison study of them, analysing the similaritiesand differences in the three annotations’ exegetical style, content, and methods, basedon which their characteristics are summarized, and the interrelationship between themare also simply classified. Through such a comprehensive survey, it is supposed thatwe can get a more thorough and more comprehensive understanding of the merits anddefects of “SanJiaZhu”, which thereby can provide some references and help for thestudy of the exegetics’ development from Wei&Jin Dynasties to Sui&Tang Dynasties,as well as for the related research of ShiJi.
