The painter Chen Dehong,who is from Fujian province,was a teacher of Academy of Fine Arts in Fujian Normal University.He was ever in Yongchun, Nanan, Quanzhou, Fuzhou and many other places for learning and working, the field involving sketch, watercolors, oil paintings, calligraphy, print and Chinese landscape painting and so on. He is good at Chinese painting, and especially had highest achievement in the field of portraits and freehand flower-bird painting. The author has collected related material herein and classified his painting works, and analyzed and summarized the genesis of his painting style combined with the objective and subjective factors., showing the feature of Chen Dehong’s painting style as completely as possibleThe main content of this paper includes the following aspects:First, the influence of Chen Dehong’s life and the four painters he studied on his painting style; Second, integrating the timeline of work, with the time as the vertical clues and painting themes as the transverse clues to research and approach the evolution of painting styles in different periods; Third, exploring Chen Dehong’s personal painting ideas and educational ideas on the basis of the material prepared more fully, Fourth, in conclusion, Chen Dehong’s style changes of sketch and flower-bird painting arrive at the same end by different roads; the portraits which are painted by Chen Dehong in his mid-term are represented the contemporary mid-high level; the style of freehand flower-bird painting is not mainly influenced by Western painting, but the heart of the source.The main research methods of this paper are follows. First, collect and survey. Before this paper, related information and material are collected and collated,as well as the related characters visited and investigated; Second, the chart analysis.
