The integration of urban and rural areas is one of the important social problems in transitional China. Traditional urban-rural dual structure makes the gap between urban and rural deepening, quality of urban life far higher than in rural areas. In this specific context, the central call for urban and rural co-ordination development strategy. Urban and rural co-ordination strategy includes urban and rural economic, political, social and cultural development. The role of culture should not be overlooked. However, due to the different environment of the survival and development of urban residents and rural residents, urban and rural cultural conflicts in an interactive process and has caused some social problems. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the differences, conflicts and countermeasures from value, psychological and lifestyle of cultural. The urban and rural co-ordination development can accelerate the program of the integration of urban and rural areas.This article firstly explains the significance of urban culture and rural culture, analysis of the difference between them and the conflicts arising from them. Next, the paper analyzes the fundamental contradiction and root causes of urban culture and rural culture. Then, the representation of the long-standing conflict between the urban culture and rural culture are mentioned. On this basis, the essence of the conflicts is:conflict between agricultural culture and industrial culture, traditional culture and modern culture, foreign culture and local culture. At last, it is proposed that there are some the countermeasures about promotion of cultural integration in urban and rural areas. |
