Resarch On The History Of Political And Religious Issues In Amdo

The History of Politics and Religion of Amdo is written by well-known Tibetan scholar Zhiguanba gongque danba ruoky in Tongzhi4th Qing Dynasty. The original name of the book is the History of Dharma of Amdo, also called Discant on the History of the Development of the Buddha Holy Teach in Duomai. Generally, it is collectively referred to as Shi Hai later. The book is a classic masterpiece for the history and religion of A-mdo. And the content which it refers to is very abundant. Since its publication, as one of the most respected works by the later scholars, the book has been introduced or published at home and abroad in many different language editions. Hence, it holds the important status in the academic history of Tibetan.In this paper, based on the literature of Chinese and Tibetan, the content of the book is been exposited systematic, including the background, the value of documentation, the style structure, the contributions of the historical records applications and the problems which exist in the Chinese translation version in the book. Especially, the bibliographies and the distribution of Temple in A-mdo which described in the book are meticulous reviewed and counted in this paper. In the Chinese translation version, the problems of mistranslation in the era, the names of people and the places are amended by meticulous comparing Tibetan original and Chinese translation. This thesis contrives to reflect the life intelligence of The History of Politics and Religion ofAmdo objectively and completely.
