With the development of economic globalization, more and more business-relatedresearches have come into being. Currently, there are numerous researches on businessChinese textbooks, however, those researches that make comparisons between thebusiness textbooks of two different languages, to some extent, are relatively few;moreover, it is rare to find researches related to comparing both Chinese and Japanesebusiness Chinese textbooks. As the two countries with a narrow strip of water, Chinaand Japan have experienced frequent economic exchanges since ancient time. Hence,the author select these two textbooks Chinese For Managers·Business Chinese andBusiness Japanese, which are the textbooks with good reputation to make comparisonand analysis in order to better promote business exchanges between the two countries.By comparing the two sets of business textbooks, it is obvious to find out theiradvantages and disadvantages, and then putting forward some proposals andsuggestions for the compilation of textbooks, hoping to promote the development ofbusiness Chinese.This thesis consists of seven chapters.Chapter One, Introduction. This chapter discusses the origin and significance ofthe topic, reviewing and summarizing related researches on business Chinese andbusiness Japanese. Besides, the author introduces theories and methods being used inthis thesis.Chapter Two, General Comparative Analysis. A good business textbook should be"easy to learn, easy to teach″with the clear object, thinking and highlight. In thischapter, the author compares the two textbooks from the perspectives of teachingobjects,compiling principles, characteristics,ideas and styles from a macroscopic view,and then analyzes their advantages and disadvantages separately.Chapter Three,Comparative Analysis of Texts. Contents of texts are carriers ofknowledge, meanwhile texts qualities will affect learning effects of learners.Thischapter compares and analyzes these two textbooks from the following respects:selection and layout of topics, genres and forms of texts,translations and culturalcontents within texts.Chapter Four, Comparative Analysis of Vocabulary and Grammar. Vocabulary is the basis of language, and grammar is the framework of language. Vocabulary andgrammar will affect the abilities and levels of business communication, therefore,arrangements and compilations of grammar and vocabulary play a vital role in businesstextbooks. This chapter analyzes forms, quantities, interpretations of the vocabularyand grammars respectively and base on the former analysis, the author points out theirmerits and shortcomings.Chapter Five, Exercise Comparative Analysis. Business communication abilitycan be reflected through listening, speaking, reading and writing, while during theprocess of exercises, these four aspects are not of equal importance but with a certainamount of emphasis. This chapter starts from forms, distributions and quantities tostudy the exercises in the two textbooks. By analyzing the proportion of the threepractice forms: mechanical practice, functional exercise, business communicationpractice, it will show the effects of exercises in business language learning.Chapter Six, Proposals and Suggestions of Compiling Business ChineseTextbooks. Through the comparative analysis of the advantages and disadvantages ofthe two textbooks in the preceding chapters and starting from the compiling ofbusiness Chinese textbooks, the author retains the advantages of Chinese ForManagers·Business Chinese and absorbs the advantages of Business Japanese and thenputs forwards proposals and suggestions of compiling business Chinese textbooks,hoping not only to enhance teaching and learning effects of business Chinese, but alsoto further promote the population of Chinese.Chapter Seven, Conclusions.The author summarizes main conclusions andgeneralizes key meanings of the former comparison and analysis in this thesis; Besides,shortcomings and further researching directions have also been discussed in thechapter.
