The traditional linguistics thinks that reading and writing belong to different language skills and advocates separate teaching with reading and writing as independent individuals. This kind of research is one-sided, which neglects the influence of reading on writing as well as the effect of writing on reading. Till1980s, some linguists reached consensus through a series of theoretical researches as to reading and writing like cognition and psychology:reading and writing can mutually promote each other as supplement. Many scholars have made further researches to confirm constantly that reading should combine with writing. Achieve promoting writing with reading and promoting reading with writing in teaching process thus reaching balance between input and output. The thesis attempts to indicate how the textbook makes combination between writing and reading as well as its advantages and disadvantages, and corresponding improvement suggestions through systemization of scheme theory and analysis on Elementary Chinese reading and writing course.The introducing of schema theory into teaching Chinese as foreign language started after1990s with wide-ranging attention from domestic scholars in teaching Chinese as foreign language. The early introducing of schema theory was to solve problems existing in reading of teaching Chinese as foreign language. However, now, many scholars have attempted to apply schema theory into teaching of other Chinese skills, such as writing, listening and so on. But there is no scholar who applies schema theory into analysis on combination between reading and writing. The introducing of schema theory can better improve Chinese reading and writing skills, guide compiling of reading and writing textbook, at the meantime provide a new research perspective for improving reading and writing teaching efficiency. The writer attempts to make analysis on Elementary Chinese reading and writing course based on schema theory and teaching pattern of combination between reading and writing. Textbook is a kind of manifestation of teaching pattern. The research on textbook is to explore how to combine reading and writing better in convenience of dealing with problems existing in reading and writing teaching. The thesis includes four chapters, of which chapter two and chapter three are emphasized. Chapter one introduction generalizes current research situation of combination between reading and writing home and abroad; indicates research status of schema theory as well as necessity of schema theory in combination between reading and writing.Chapter two is theoretical analysis on elementary level Chinese reading and writing course, which introduces basic situation in Elementary Chinese reading and writing course with combination of writing and reading under schema theory as framework and makes theoretical analysis from three aspects including language schema, form schema, content schema, indicating the advantages and disadvantages existing in textbook from theoretical perspective.Chapter three is application analysis of elementary level Chinese reading and writing course. The part makes interview with teachings and students using this textbook and make class observation, analyzing on Elementary Chinese reading and writing course from practical perspective and then combines theoretical analysis and practical analysis to summarize advantages and disadvantages comprehensively existing in textbook. And it proposes compiling suggestions as to elementary level Chinese reading and writing course through interview with teachers and teaching practice of writer, finally making rewriting of the fourth class in the textbook.Chapter four is conclusion, which makes summery about Elementary Chinese reading and writing course, as well as problems and deficiencies existing in researches.
