Currently, cognitive need scales have applications in many areas of medicalresearch fields, such as medical services, health care, mental health assessment and soon, but in the field of medical information service has not been reported. Comparedwith foreign research, in our country, the research of "Information psychometric" isweaker. Research on psychometric of user information did not attract attention to thedomestic scholars, especially the psychology of health information user. However, with the continuous improvement of people’s living standards, the demand for healthinformation is increasing, under this circumstance, the development of the cognitiveneed scales for information user is more important for both information serviceinstitute and plateform. This help to make a better understanding of health informationuser’s cognitive need and interactive behavior. And this is also important forimproving the service environment. Objective:The purpose of this research is conducting the survey of users and expert’sadvice, based on the theoretical framework of cognitive need, combined with themodel of information seeking behavior, also considering the factor of environment, take medical students and doctors as target groups, to form the basic theoreticalframework of cognitive need scales of health information user in an interactiveenvironment. And then, we develop cognitive need scales of health information userwith good reliability and validity.Subject and Methods:The research methods used in this study include literature research, questionnaireinvestigation, brainstorming, expert interview, statistical analysis. First of all, thisstudy explored the internal and external factors of cognitive needs scale in interactiveenvironment using the literature research method and questionnaire investigation, after analyzing these factors, using brainstorming and expert interview method formthe initial cognitive need scales of health information user. Secondly, we conduct a survey to medical students, after statistical analysis, using product moment correlationand ratio analysis to refining the scales, after two rounds of cuts, the formal scalestructure become more stable. Then we conduct a new survey, calculating theCronbach’s alpha coefficient and split half reliability coefficient, testing the validityand reliability of the scales. Finally, we construct the model using AMOS17.0, testinggoodness of fit, prove the rationality of the structure.Results:1. In the factor analysis of formal scale,KMO is0.730,greater than0.5. Bartlett’ssphere test is1569.003, reached the significant level with degrees of freedom of630,suitable for factor analysis.2.In the reliability test of scale, the Cronbach’s ratio of each factor is distributedfrom0.784to0.839, and the Cronbach’s ratio of the whole scale is0.923.Thesplit-half reliability of each factor is distributed from0.753to0.846, The split-halfreliability of the whole scale is0.909, within a good range.3.In the validity test, the correlation coefficient between each factor and the totalpoints of scale is distributed from0.501to0.746,showed that illustrated it has a goodcorrelation between the virous item and the scale. The correlation coefficient betweenvirous factor is distributed from0.301to0.585, has a obvious correlation, belong tolow-middle grade correlation. The correlation coefficient between each factor and thewhole scale is distributed from0.516to0.788, has a obvious correlation, belong tomiddle-high grade correlation, showed that it has a good correlation between virousfactor and the scale.4.In the established fitting model, this model chi-square degrees of freedom ratioof3.84, It indicates that the model is acceptabe; GFI is0.682, the value of AGGI is0.652, indicating fitting degree well; The value of RMSEA is0.096, it indicates themodel can also be accepted. the value of RMR is0.165; it indicates that fitting degreenot very well, model needs further revision and improvement.5.Among them, the average score for Undergraduates interactive environmentCognition Scale is129.07, a standard deviation of13.24; Postgraduate average scoreof132.62, a standard deviation of14.96. After t test, p <0.05, It indicates a significantdifference. Male in an interactive environment Cognition Scale average score of132.41, the standard deviation of12.93; The average score for female is130.72, thestandard deviation of13.96. After t test,p>0.05,no significant difference of gender. Students average score of131.06, the standard deviation of13.42; The average scorefor Doctors is129.02, a standard deviation of12.83.Student’s score out through Ttest with doctor’s, get p>0.05, no significant difference between the occupations. Conclusion:This study construct a health information user’s cognitive need scales in theinteractive environment, and the scales have good reliability and validity, confirmatory factor analysis also shows that the structure reach good level. The mainstructure of the scales are degree of cognitive effort, quality of information resources, the influence of the external environment, personal habit and behavior. The resultsalso show that the medical students’ cognitive need in interactive environment havesignificant difference in the education background. There was no significantdifference in gender. Compared with the doctors group had no significant difference, the application of groups for the scales need to be further testified.
