The Exploration Of Lines In Copperplate Prints——The Analysis Of Creating Waterside Village Of Tongli

Lines are the important element in art of copperplate prints. Artists of printmaking make their works more expressive by various changes and the flexible arrangement of lines. This thesis puts emphasis on the study of lines and techniques in the art of copperplate etching. Copperplate is the traditional media in western printmaking. As this kind of art is introduced into China, more and more Chinese artists join the team for creating the art of copperplate prints and they create many works with Chinese characteristics. In this thesis, combining with personal graduate works of depicting Tongli,the application of etching techniques is discussed. Besides, the creating reasons of these works, the exploration and cognition of expression of lines and the emotion in lines will be expounded.
