| This thesis is based on the interpretation practices of some different kinds of pressconferences. Press conferences are official interviews that involve many media and are heldby the governments or social groups aiming at announcing news or information. Interpretatingfor the press conference is an important part of translation. As it is fast and efficient, it hasbeen chosen as the most popular way to distribute information by not only the government butalso many sectors and groups. This requires the interpreters to be aware of the features ofdifferent kinds of press conferences and understand the basic standards of interpretation, therole of the interpreter and the appropriate language styles so as to conclude the rightinterpretation methods for different press conferences. For the completion of this thesis, theauthor carried out consecutive and simultaneous interpretation practices for different kinds ofpress conferences and compared these recordings with the editions officially published orwidely discussed on line, aiming at concluding some effective methods applicable tointerpretations of this kind in the future. |
