Xu Bo, was a famous litterateur and bibliophile in Fu Zhou during the Wanli Era of the Ming Dynasty. As an ordinary person in his old age, he led the local literary circles with his friends. Xu Bo had an essential impact on the renaissance of local literary during late Ming Dynasty. He was broad-minded and social. He liked to associate great minds during his travel, and they enjoyed tea and beautiful sights, leading an artistic life. His acquaintances included officials, celebrities, hermits, monks and common people, which all respected he greatly. There are many studies in Xu Bo’s writings and collections, while few studies in his social life. This study is focused on Xu Bo’s travel and association activities, analyzing communications between him and his company, and impacts of his activities on the style, thought and atmosphere of local literary.
