ObjectiveTo explore personality disorders of college students, analyzing the differences and the related factors of the incidence by epidemiological investigation. From the perspective of personality traits, with self-assessment and others-rating,discussing the demographic characteristics of personality disorder, the differences of personality traits between the normal and the disorder and the correlations between personality traits and personality disorders of college students.MethodBased on convenience sampling in this research, participants were1244college students, of whom320were male(26.8%) and874were female(73.2%). They were aged from18-24(20.53±1.501), in2009-2012Grade.1204valid questionnaires were collected with the96.78%effective rate A series of inventories were regarded as evaluation tool, the self-made general information questionnaire collecting demographic data, Personality Diagnostic Questionnaire (PDQ+4) exploring the personality disorders of college students, Chinese Big Five Inventory(CBF-PI-B) being self-assessment of personality traits, and personality traits assessment in DSM-5being others-rating of personality traits. The data were input using EpiDate3.02by two researchers, analyzed by SPSS17.0。 Results1. The highest rate of personality disorder subtypes was obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (44.7%,0.45±0.50), the second highest was avoidant personality disorder (30.0%,0.30±0.46), and the lowest was antisocial personality disorder (7.0%,0.07±0.25);40.6%were combined types.2. The rates of personality disorder of male were significantly higher than those of female in8subtypes (p<0.01)3. There were significant differences in grades of paranoid, schizotypal, Nareissistie and Avoidant personality disorder (p<0.05); The highest rates were all in the junior.4. There were no significant differences in family construct and only-child family of personality disorder.5. There were significant differences in neuroticism, agreeableness, conscientiousness and extraversion between normal personality and personality disorder (p<0.01)ConclusionThere is evidence that personality disorders existed in college students group. Among them, the highest rate of personality disorder is obsessive-compulsive type, the lowest is antisocial type; a percentage of them are combined types. Significant differences exist in gender and grade of some subtypes. Significant differences exist in big five traits between normal personality and personality disorder. Big five traits have correlation with personality disorders. In a word, personality disorders have the own characteristics of college students; personality traits can add description and supplement to personality disorders; the combination of personality traits and personality disorders would be the research direction in the future.
