Study On The Wang Heju’s Lacquer Painting Art

Wang Heju (1936-), born in Fushun county of Chengdu in Sichuan, after graduating from college in1959, he was allocated to Fuzhou and engaged in creation and education of lacquer painting art for more than fifty years, who is a representative figure of modern craft art history and lacquer painting art history, and he witnessed the development of Fujian lacquer painting art and lacquer painting art education for nearly60years, having trained a number of famous lacquer painting artists such as Chen Mingguang, Wu Jiaquan, Chen Sichun and so on, making him become the mainstay in the history of lacquer painting art development in Fujian province and even throughout the country. During his art career of nearly60years, Wang Heju is always holding the love for art ideas and lacquer painting art, persisting in Chinese traditional painting art way of freehand brushwork, using the Vietnamese lacquer picture technology for reference to integrate it with the traditional Chinese painting art, expressing the Chinese traditional elements in the form of lacquer painting by the way of traditional paint processing techniques. He benefits a lot from Chinese traditional folk culture, and is good at excavating materials from China’s long history. Wang Heju’s early works—Saltworks, which represents the early development of China’s lacquer painting art, got in the fourth national arts exhibition as the first to participate in the national arts exhibition and collected by national art museum of China, becoming the lead in the change of lacquer painting from arts and crafts to the art of painting, which established his position in the art history of lacquer art in Fujian. Thus, it is of great significance to choose Wang Heju as the research object and explore his art experience and his lacquer painting art and thoughts systematically, deeply and thoroughly, which has a high theoretical research value and practical significance.The current research includes the following four aspects:firstly, exploring the influence of education and life experience on Wang Heju’ lacquer art road; secondly, clarifying growing process and development of Heju’ lacquer art; thirdly, interpreting and dividing the stages of Wang Heju’s representative works according to the time venation; fourthly, analyzing artistic characteristics and aesthetic features of Wang Heju’ lacquer painting works.
