Research On The Relationships Of Peace And War Between The Tang Dynasty And Nanzhao

Nanzhao as a national regime of southwestern frontier of the Tang Dynasty, the history of Nanzhao is closely related to the Tang Dynasty. Unified Erhai Lake Area in Nanzhao perish from Kaiyuan heyday one hundred and sixty-four years of Nanzhao with Tang Dynasty keep good communication, also meet with the heat of war. In this paper, the author takes peace and war as the main line and divides the relationship between the Tang and Nanzhao into four stages, the stages and the change of relationship between peace and war, process and effect were analyzed. Based on the above research, this paper think the two sides and the change of the relationship is determined by the interests of both parties.When the Nanzhao and the interests of the Tang Dynasty can reach an agreement, the two sides is a kind of good relationship. When both sides of the conflict of interests demand, the relationship will deteriorate, even to the war broke out. It is also a central argument of this article. Both the development of the relationship between peace and war, eventually terminated to the demise of Nanzhao. At the same time, years of the war between Tang Dynasty and the Nanzhao consumes national strength of Tang Dynasty, it accelerated the collapse of the Tang Dynasty.
