Application Research For Information Visualization Illustration Design

In the high degree of expansion of the information age, overloadedinformation and data makes people confused and weary. We have to face thechallenge about how to transfer information quickly, clearly and accurately.Combining design thinking with information, and information design withillustration design, illustration design under the thinking of informationvisualization will become an inevitable trend of illustration design for the future.Based on current society situation of overloaded information, a designerneed to pay close attention to development trend of illustration designvisualization which is a design subject with great value in application. Thispaper explores the value and meaning of information visualization forillustration design deeply on the basis of existing domestic and foreignresearch on information visualization designed theory. With the disturbation ofa huge amount of information, author attempts to figure out a new method forwatching and exploring the world, and makes information visualizationillustration design as a concept with classification and interpretation, exploringby relationship between information visualization illustration design and maintheoretical basis of five subjects in terms of statistics, logic, psychology,semiotics and computer science. Information visualization illustration design isdecomposed into five applicable design methods and principles,‘audienceanalysis’,‘basic modeling and methodology for realization of illustratedinformation design’,‘vision conversion of basic modeling on data informationvisualization’,‘design process’, and ‘keynotes in design’, that refined designmethods and principles, supplemented by a large number of example analysis,interpreted different categories of information visualization illustration design.Sensual creation is integrated with rational analysis that guides mentality ofdesigning macroscopically and provide an objective view of informationtransfer function of the work. Finally, pointed out existing problems of application research for information visualization illustration design, and lookedin to the future.This paper discusses the value and meaning of information visualizationon illustration design based on analysis and interpretation of relevant literatureresearch as theoretical foundation. According to cases studies and basictheoretical perspectives, analysis of core content and creation process ofinformation visualization illustration design work, and refinement of processand creation method of information thinking, makes author’s research resultrelatively comprehensive and more convincible. A detailed analysis aboutentire process of thinking on information visualization design, and study abouthow to assimilate complex information into illustration design, are helpful forformation of more perfect practical method and principle of informationvisualization illustration design. It required effort to achieve that informationvisualization illustration become design work with strong visual effect,abundance information content and interests, and designers can understanddesign approach and thinking of information visualization illustration design.
