The Study Of Zong Baihua’s Aesthetic Thoughts On Art Form

As one of the founders of China’s art theory, Zong Baihua’s art ideology is rich, insightfulwhich has far-reaching influence. And yet the accomplishments of his art thoughts have not beenfully excavated. This paper selects art form theory as the research subject from Zong Baihua’s arttheory, studies the aesthetics system of art form and discusses its basic meanings as well as theenlightenment on contemporary art practice.The preface introduces the purpose and the significance of this topic, summarizes theresearch status of Zong Baihua’s art form theory and states the research methods (and problemsof the topics which will be solved under this study).The second chapter discusses the origin of zong Baihua’s art form aesthetic thought andanalyses Zong’s absorption of Chinese traditional and western aesthetic thoughts.The third chapter presents the fundamental questions in Zong’s aesthetic thoughts of artform, which include the definition of art form, the features of art form, and the basic rules of artform.The fourth chapter discusses the exploration of the relationship between art form andcontent. It concerns the issues of the harmonious relationship of form and content and theconversion problem of content to form.The fifth chapter states Zong’s cognition in the function of art form, including thecompartmentation, composition and expression of rhythmical beat of life.The sixth chapter focuses on the enlightenment of Zong’s aesthetic thoughts of art form oncontemporary art practice.
