Xunzi is a scholar of the pre-qin academic.His theory has the characteristics of the fusion of Confucianism and Legalism."Peace and prosperity" is the aim of Xunzi’s doctrine,and the core of Xunzi’s doctrine is "rules of etiquette".Xunzi has three types of ideal personality,they are"saints","the gentleman"and"officer".These types of ideal personality is requirement for people. Cabinet government is the ideal government style of Xunzi.All of Xunzi’s view of talent,theory of the ruling mode,Statecraft are The oretical extension of his politeness theory,they are in order to achieve the target of "peace and prosperity".The core of Confucianism is Ritual study.The core of Legalism is Law. The core of Xunzi’ s theory is "rules of etiquette". Xunzi thinks protean nature with invariable rule, this rule is in line with the standards of human society,that laws, rules, criterion is "rules of etiquette",is origin in nature,"rules of etiquette" is standard, reed, statutes is the manifestation of this criterion, is the legal system. Rites and law in the book xunzi, on different occasions expressed the significance of a difference, careful analysis is required to determine whether it is system of rites, or as a criterion of " rules of etiquette ".Xun zi attaches great importance to the "class" and "identify" and differentiate"."Class" refers to a person as a "human" is different from animals, this difference reflected in "human has identify",’identify" lies in "differentiate", and " rules of etiquette "is the most important embodiment of’differentiate". So,"rules of etiquette" is the sign of man "class", is a person’s social attributes,"rules of etiquette" is also on the development of the human survival, people must make up group,"group" requirements"differentiate",and "differentiate" to decorums, otherwise they will not be able to stand out in nature. Politness is also a person’s psychological demand, people have all kinds of desire, the desire is natural, cannot be removed. But people’s endless desire, the material is limited, human are not being met; Furthermore, when people confront good and evil, everyone would like to choose good.People demand is similar, can get the desires of people is limited. That the contradiction between human and things can lead to social chaos, only"rules of etiquette" was able to solve this contradiction, therefore,"rules of etiquette" is man’s psychological needs.Standards require that people must follow, Systme do need to maintenance."Rules of etiquette" is rooted in nature, is the common rules of nature and society."Rules of etiquette" is man’s social property, and,it’s people’s psychological needs, also,is the inevitable requirement of human survival and development."Saint","the gentleman","officer" is xunzi’s three types of ideal personality."Saint" is the most perfect personality types, sage can find the laws of nature, and on the basis of natural law to realize the social norms, and setting up a system of reed, statutes, etc."Gentleman" is the second kind of ideal personality of xunzi, the "gentlemen’s" not know "why" of natural and human society, but must be able to firmly fulfills the legal rules, strictly implement the system of rites. Xunzi thought "officer" shall make the"law"be his own pursuit, strictly abide by the legal system. Of the three, xunzi requirement for "officer" the lowest, but with great expectations, he thought "officer" to "learning" to reach a higher realm."Saints" and "the gentleman","officer" the three kind of Xunzi’s ideal personality, can be understood as Xunzi on the different division of people "in the system."Officer" the equivalent of Xunzi officials at all levels of social and political system."Saint" is the most perfect personality types, Xunzi thought "saint" is the discoverer of the legal norms, the makers of the"rules of etiquette",is the equivalent of Xun zi the so-called "saint king";"Gentleman" is legal rules of practitioners, the rulers of Xun zi is’s ideal social system. Although Xunzi believes that everyone can become a "saint", but Xunzi thought "saints" rare, as a result, Xun zi advocated actually " Minister’s ruling " governing the country. Xunzi’s " Minister’s ruling " governing the country both in content and in essence, with the rule of political ShenBuHai has the very big difference.Xunzi to Confucian advocated "ruling country with virtue" and the legalist "governing the country by force" combination of political.He thought "managing state affairs by ethics" and "governing the country by force" is not opposites, but rule of different levels,"governing the country by force" is feasible, but the imperfect, must further be "managing state affairs by ethics".The text on the longitudinal is divided into four parts.The first part:the succession and development of the xunzi to Confucius’thought. The paper mainly discusses Xunzi to Confucius’doctrine of "ceremonial rites and regulations" and "learning" of cultivate one’s morality development.The second part:the development of Xunzi to legalists. This part will define "legalism" and its theory, on this basis to explore Xunzi to legalism "law" of theory development. The third part:the theory of Xunzi in fusion of Confucianism and Legalism. This section will discuss how Xunzi systemic method of fusion of Confucianism and Legalism, and did not become " the Eclectics ". Finally as a conclusion, to summarize full text.
