The Preliminary Research On Pottery Of Qidan-Liao Dynasty In Northeast China

Ceramics are very common remains of Qidan-Liao ancient people in northeastChina. At present, we have achieved abundant accomplishment on the understandingof Liao dynasty porcelain.But we are short of a comprehensive collection ofQidan-Liao pottery. What we have got is just a few research on some kinds ofpottery in some perid of time,which makes it to be a weak link. In this paper, thepublished archaeological data has been made into a system arrgement, and then Imake a preliminary research on the characteristics of types, dividing the period andsome related issues about Qidan-Liao pottery.Dissertation is divide into six parts.Preface: Introduce the Qidan-Liao history briefly and defined the space-timedistrict.Chapter One: Introduce the archaeological discovery of Qidan-Liao pottery andresearch situation.Chapter Two: This is one of the focus of this article.Analyze20kinds offunctional pottery,16kinds of model in funerary pottery in detailedtypology. Establish the main shape of the chronological.Combining with the results of Qidan-Liao tombs stage, the pottery can beidivided into four period: the first is the early Qidan period. This is the start-up stageof pottery. The second period is in the early Liao dynasty.This is the preliminarydevelopment stage of pottery.The third is mid-Liao dynasty.This time is the vigorousdevelopment of pottery,as well as the most prominent change period. The fourthperiod is in the late Liao dynasty.This time is the winter to the pottery.This arcitlehas also analyze the reason why the pottery change combing with the historicaldocuments. Chapter Four is the related studies about Qidan-Liao pottery. The first is thepottery production process.Summarize the craftsmanship from thetexturemanufacture methord and decoration.Otherwise summarize the firingtechnology from the investigation about kiln sites in Liao dynasty. The second is toanalyze pottery reflects culture factors. It was believed that we can see Qidan, sinic,Xi and Mohe-nvzhen culture factors from pottery. The third is to analyze thefunction of the main pottery with the help of literature, fresco, scientific testing.Itwas indicated that the pottery uesd in six ways such as eating, furnishing,stationeryaccessories, producting, funeral practical and funerary wares.The last part is the conclusion to summarize the dissertation.
