Study On The Correcting Achievements Of Ma Ruichen’s General Explanation Of Mao’s Annotations For Book Of Songs

General Explanation of Mao’s Annotations for Book of Songs which was writtenin Daoguang period of Qing dynasty is not only the important explanatory work of TheBook of songs written by Ma Ruichen but also the masterpiece of the study of The Bookof songs in Qing dynasty.It fullyshows Ma Ruichen’s achievements on the explanationof The Book of Songs and reflects the academic approach of textual research andseeking truth from facts in Qing dynasty. As a book of textual research, GeneralExplanation of Mao’s Annotations for The Book of Songs includes a large number ofpredecessors’ explanation and contemporary findings about The Book of Songs. Inorder to research poetry purports and explain words,Ma Ruichen also corrected wrongexplanation.Therefore, combing and studying the correcting Achievements of GeneralExplanation of Mao’s Annotations for Book of Songs is of great significance forsummarizing Ma’s explanatory achievement,deepening the study and understandingcommentaries of The Book of songs in Qing dynasty.So far, the research mostly concentrates on acoustic explanations and textualresearches, in which there was no specialized research about correctingachievements for General Explanation of Mao’s Annotations for Book ofSongs.While some papers occasionally involve correcting achievements,but theydon’t do in-depth analysis. According to this, this thesis will regard correctingachievements as the research object and use the historical and philological researchmethods from vertical and horizontal dimensions to research General Explanationof Mao’s Annotations for Book of Songs:Vertically: the main task is to research explanation of correcting achievements indifferent historical period,which reflects the range of correcting achievements.And theyare divided into three parts:the explanation of correcting in Han and Wei dynasties, theexplanation of correcting in Tang and Song dynasties, the explanation of correcting inQing dynasty.Horizontally: the main task is to comb explanation by annotating the meaning ofwords, collating corruptions, ancient books’ explanation and elucidating poetry.Then,the correcting collating corruptions mainly divided into four parts: correct writings, derivatives,missings, and perversions.And the correcting ancient books’ explanationcombs books by the Four-part Categorization.After researching correcting achievements, this thesis will summarize Ma’sexplanatory achievements and analyze Ma’s deficiencies about explanation of TheBook of Songs.
