Abstract/Summary:
The internationalization of China’s foreign language education gives impetus tothe cooperation between Chinese and international teachers. Based on the teachingpractice and data collected on campus, this article proves that the teaching team of theChinese and international teachers have contributed to the improvement of thestudents’ English language proficiency and cultural literacy. The case study provides avery example for the sustainable development of the international teaching teams.The thesis try to apply the cooperative teaching to the college English teachingwhich based on experimental classes.The study conduct in one college in JilinUniversity.The main methodology of the study is action research and combined withtest, questionnaires, teacher journal, interviews to collect data for analyzing thefeasibility of cooperative between Chinese and international teachers in the EliteProgram Classes.The thesis get the conclusion by mixed method from14weeksteaching:1) Aspects of test:Through T value, the average score of experimental hasimproved.The distribution of experimental class’s score get more appreciate after thecooperative teaching.2) Aspects of language skills:It gets the conclusion from questionnaires:most ofthe experimental students think they get progress in speaking listening writing andreading skills.For example,70%of the experimental students and35%of thecontrolled class students regard themselves progressed in speaking.3) Aspects of interests:90%of the experimental class students think they haveinterested in English after the cooperative teaching.70%show the interest before.Through the analysis above, students think the cooperative teaching is aneffective way of learning. For the students of science class is great value to constructelite program class. And it also of great value of them to study the advanced scienceand technology,and improve their interests further. All in all the cooperative teaching has been tested to some extent. While in the actual teaching, the cooperative teachingis not perfect, as, the communication is not in time, the cooperative teaching is achallenge in the actual teaching. The study is a attempt on Cooperation betweenChinese and International Teachers in the Elite Program Classes,with the purposewhich provides a very example for the sustainable development of the internationalteaching teams.
