On Co-translation Ethics Identity From The Perspective Of Reconciliation Translation Theory

Based on Harmony Translation Theory by Zheng Hailing and Reconciliation Theory by Zhang Liwen, the Reconciliation Translation Theory came into being just few years ago.As far as "Reconciliation(�'�合)" is concerned,"he(�'�)" refers to harmony, peace and serene, while "he(合)" means combination, integration and cooperation. The Reconciliation Translation Theory originated from the theory of "new entity" and "conflict and fusion", the "harmony in nature" and "the doctrine of the middle course" is the theoretical foundation of the Reconciliation Translation Theory. This thesis is an attempt to apply the Reconciliation Translation Theory to the study of identity of co-translation ethics.The goal of co-translation is the pursuit of a comprehensive translation as "unification". The maximum goal of co-translation should be realization of perfect combination of the original text with the translation text, while the minimum goal should be the realization of the full unification in co-translators’ understanding and expressing. The co-translators’ability and quality vary from person to person, resulting the poor quality of co-translation and the loss of ethics. However, in the research of co-translation, what we lack is the theoretical range and depth in our study.Hence, aiming at the identity of co-translation ethics, this thesis is focused on the following two aspects:(1) To solve the problems in the loss of ethics in co-translation with the realization of identity of co-translation ethics.(2) To interpret the identity of co-translation ethics from the perspective of truth, excellence and beauty.From the perspective of Reconciliation Translation Theory and with the combination of some related research, the author tried to probe into the essence of co-translation and pursue an effective approach to the identity of co-translation ethics, which tends to provide a new angle for the solution to some ethics problems in translation, especially in co-translation.
