Opposition And Reconciliation

Opposition and reconciliation is a kind of method of narrative dance creation.Opposition originates from Saussure's Dichotomy,deriving to Dual Opposition,while reconciliation comes from one of the “ten perfections” principle.It is the first time in the theory of narrative dance to put both of them into the same category to do some research,so this research has relatively important meanings.This article begins with the three clues in narrative dance: persons,materials and the event.Persons refer to the characters in the narrative dance work;materials mean the stage properties in it;the event indicates the story that has the function of opening,developing,changing and concluding.This article employs literature analysis and work analysis,selecting 23 excellent narrative dance works from many competitions,including Wen Hua Cup National Dance Competition,Peach and Plum Cup Dance Competition etc.Based on analysing a number of narrative dance works,I give a brand new interpretation of employing opposition and reconciliation in narrative dance.All in all,this article generalizes the content of opposition and reconciliation,clarifies the relationship between opposition and reconciliation in different narrative clues,and finally interprets the effects by using opposition and reconciliation,thus further reading the relationship between the actions and the emotions of the characters who belong to differents statuses.
