Water is a very common element in myth, water-related myths around the world have different levels of existence, such as the famous myth about flood, which is a worldwide myth motif, there are a lot of different written expressions in the world On the basis of the key elements of the water, to sort out the myths about water with different mythological theme, and then on the basis of the themes, using prototype theory and symbolic analysis technique to analyze and interpret the myths about water on the level of the water, to explore the inherent implication and cultural pursuit of water on the basis of mythical image.Since ancient times, water is closely related to human life, and therefore, water-related myths are also very close to the human social life. The mythical theme of "cosmic sea" reflects the origin of the world and humanity,"Water pregnant myths " is linked the human fertility and reproduction with water, as well as the myths about god of water around the world is even more revealed the close relationship between human’s life and water,and also revealed human’s worship of water.Begin from the myth, in the long-term evolution of human civilization, water has become a very important cultural, in the myth of the universe and the life forming, it is a symbol of reproduction; in the flood myth, it is the symbol of creation and destruction; in the myths of heroic adventure, it is a symbol of threshold between sacred secular world and sacred world; in the myths of "water for life", it is a symbol of energy, is the essence of life; and in the myths of bathing, it is a symbol of purification and rebirth.The cultural implications of myths about water is multifaceted, but it is very vague and complicated, to deciphered the mythical images of myths about water,on the one hand, it could open a window for us to study early human civilization and social life, on the other hand, it also could help us to understand the close relationship more further between water and human’s lives and the importance of the water to human, then enhance people’s awareness of treasuring water resources in real life.
