In the field of English teaching in China, there is a common phenomenon that dumb English still can’t be gotten rid of. The main reason of causing the problem is lack of ability of English pronunciation acquisition from the perspective of modern teaching theory. On the basis of doing further more research and study on theories of Educational Technology and the consult and analysis of varied English phonetic literatures, and also of his sixteen years of English teaching experiences, the author of the paper puts forward during his graduate time that the best starting point of solve the problem is to train the ability of acquiring English pronunciation. With this thinking, the author starts to do research systematically and considers the research result as master degree thesis being presented to experts to remark, hoping it would obtain affirmation from them.Training the ability of acquiring English pronunciation should mainly focus on the layers of English language structure, with fluent English as yardstick. So the author analyzes the learning needs, learners, pronunciation contents and learning environments under the instruct of instructional design theory, and does preliminary analysis of training mode of ability of acquiring English pronunciation, and also implements instruction design for training the ability of English pronunciation acquisition on the basis of Elaboration theory,4MAT theory, and CDT.Based on the theories and analysis above, a new and universal training mode of ability of acquiring English pronunciation is put forward by the author in a method of induction and summing-up. So from the mode is derived a more complete training plan of ability of learner’s English pronunciation acquisition. The plan not only can adapt English pronunciation teaching for national-wide schools, but also provides both teachers and instructional designers with a set of teaching order and designing process which accords with the cognitive law of English pronunciation. The mode embodies an English phoneme teaching method of "Learning in Doing", and also partly revises the traditional contents of English pronunciation teaching by adding syllabic structure and suprasegmental.Due to the lack of my experience and capacity, it’s not easy for me to avoid fallacies and deficiencies in the paper, so I’d like experts to help me with them. And I’ll try my best to correct them and continue paying more attention to do research result about these, hoping to make the research result closely to the practical operation. While once the research result is mature, it will lay a nice foundation for designing and developing multimedia courseware and network courseware of English pronunciation.
