Interjection is a very special kind of word in parts of speech. We agree with some scholars like Guo Rui who thinks that interjection should be classfied according to the combined functions. It is a non-compound word with a strong sense of individuality. Those which serve as the sentence elements are not interjections at all; they are only onomatopoeias. So in our opinion, interjection is a typical category which belongs to pragmatics, thus it can only be analyzed in pragmatics.The syntax position of an interjection is quite free. It can locate at every possible position, such as the head, the middle and the end. The usage frequency, however, is not the same in different locations. The data indicate that an interjection usually appears at the head of a sentence, sometimes in the middle and seldom at the end of a sentence.The interjection which is located at the head of a sentence emphasizes the intensity of emotion, or is used to call attention and as a sort of response. The correlative data reveal that the former is more prevalent than the latter.The interjection which is located in the middle of a sentence displays a logical relationship between its former and latter sentence.
