A Study On Wushu

Wu Zhiqi was literati of Yiwu, born at the late Ming Dynasty. He was famous for his literary works and book collection. In this paper, Wu Zhiqi’s most well-known work, Wushu (A History of Wuzhou), is collated. And, this paper conduct a study on the content and form of Wushu, revealing the ideas in the book. In addition to that, this paper researches on the author of Wushu, Wu Zhiqi, benefitting the study of Wushu. Since there is no academic study on the book or its author, this paper is set to lay a fondation of the study of Wushu and Wu Zhiqi.This paper include two main parts. The Foreword introduces the basic information of Wushu and its author, the current research status, the significance of this study, and the research method of this study. The following four chapters are the study of Wushu and Wu Zhiqi. This part Analyse the recordings of Wushu on local chronicles and other catalogue books and analyse the choice of historical material and the reason of the choosing. The study on Wu Zhiqi is about his lifetime experience and his social circle.The second part is the collating of collation of Wushu.For the convenience of furthur study on Wu Zhiqi, this paper includes a appendix of several biographies and a chronicle of Wu Zhiqi.
