Under the guidance of Theory of Adaptation and Selection, this thesis makes an analysis on the C-E translation of tourism texts in Wenzhou Municipal Government Portal by adopting a descriptive method. Besides, this thesis maintains that the translator who dominates the process of the C-E translation of tourism texts is supposed to make, on the basis of adapting to the translational eco-environment represented by the source text, adaptive selections through three-dimensional transformation in order to transfer the contents from Chinese into English version. What’s more, this thesis, taking Theory of Adaptation and Selection as a framework, views the process of the C-E translation of tourism texts as an integral translational eco-environment, which is further composed of the translational eco-environment represented by the source text as a typically important element, the translational eco-environment characterized by the translator as a typically important element, the translational eco-environment featuring the target text as a typically important element as well as the translational eco-environment resulting from the symbiosis of them. In general, there are two phrases in the process of the C-E translation of tourism texts, namely adaptation phrase and selection phrase. To be more specific, the translator first adapts to the patron and target reader of the translated tourism texts, and then the features of it. Furthermore, a contrastive analysis between the Chinese tourism texts and English tourism texts is to be carried out before moving forward to selection phrase so as to produce proper target texts. Eventually, the translatorthrough three-dimensional transformation produces proper target tourism texts conforming to the original tourism texts by adopting proper translation strategies, including “transliteration plus explanation”, “transliteration plus category plus annotation” and “restructuring”.
