Non-material cultural heritage has been taken more seriouslyand has gained more support from the state by announcement of thepolicy encouraging regions to provide more cultural products andservices according to local cultural characteristics. Instructed bythis concept, Pingyang Woodcut New-year Picture in Linfencombines protection and inheritance with innovation anddevelopment.Based on establishing brand image of the derivatives ofPingyang Woodcut New-year Picture, this thesis makes a thoroughresearch on regeneration and innovation of visual language ofPingyang Woodcut New-year Picture by collecting massivematerials. This thesis includes five chapters.The first chapter gives an overview of the research background,research purpose and significance, present research situations andresearch methods used, illustrating the significance and innovativeviews of this study.The second chapter sums up the characteristics of the visuallanguage of Pingyang Woodcut New-year Picture by reading a largecollection of references on the development history of PingyangWoodcut New-year Picture.The third chapter puts forward the necessity of Pingyang visual language regeneration and innovation by conducting fieldinvestigation and analyzing present market situation and existingproblems of the propagation of Pingyang Woodcut New-yearPicture.The fourth chapter puts forward innovative strategies on thevisual language of Pingyang Woodcut New-year Picture in detail anddesigns a series of innovative derivatives of the Pingyang WoodcutNew-year Picture for exploration in view of factual situation.The fifth chapter comes to a conclusion and gives a prospect of thefuture research on heritage and innovation of Pingyang WoodcutNew-year Picture.
