Same as other traditional content industry, popular music industry suffered great impact and severe challenges in the era of global Internet popularization and digital information development. In1999, after the revenue of world’s popular music industry reached the peak value$38billion, the industry revenue began to decline sharply, industry has been hit heavily and in a depressed state. Recognized the irreversible development trend of digital music, the industry began to transform science and technology into a tool for popular music development. The world’s major record companies actively transform into exploring new media and profit modes of popular music with the help of the science and technology instead of using boycott strategy towards the internet and digital music. After more than ten years of industry downturn, global pop music industry achieved a recovery development in recent years.Throughout the various countries or regions worldwide, during this period of the downturn to recovery, the development of Korean pop music industry has made dramatic developments. The South Korean government selected the popular music industry in cultural industries to develop vigorously, its development went several ups and downs, and ultimately the Korean pop music industry has swept throughout China, Southeast Asia, Europe and other countries, and gradually move towards the path of globalization. Nowadays, the Korean pop music industry has maintained a good trend of development, Korean cultural industry represented by popular music industry has become a new cultural card for Korean moving towards the world.The development process of Korean pop music industry has many independent and remarkable effective measures and strategies.
