| As a medium, films have existed in people’s lives since its generation a century ago. People love films, focus on films, study films as well as reflect on films. South Korean movies overlooked by people before had become a dark horse in world cinema by the end of20th century in a amazing way. They are welcomed by the majority of fans and focused by people in the industry. In recent years, there is a special type of films among South Korean film industry that keep following the pace of Hollywood, which is film based on true stories studied by this paper.Film based on true stories is not a mature concept but the general name of the movies based on true stories. Second, film based on true stories is not created by South Korea, they appeared in Hollywood or China originally in early times. This paper selects South Korean films based on true stories as the research object as there had been a number of South Korean films based on true stories over the past decade, which has become the development trend of films. However, such special films also present their unique charm and present the viewers a different society of South Korea by the special restoration of the real word. But such films have been overlooked by the academia. Thus, I hope to take this paper as an opportunity to make more people pay attention to this type of films. At the same time, I also hope that my research can solve some related problems.This paper doesn’t study film art, on the contrary, it will research the content and background of South Korean films based on true stories from the narrative perspective. Then, we can learn south Korean society and the relationship between movie and reality from the movie content. Next, I want to study the cause and value of the films’ appearing, and discuss the relationship between system transformation and cultural liberation. At last, I want to make an objective and comprehensive evaluation about South Korean films based on true stories. |
