Huang Jitang And His Research On The Painting Art

Huang Jitang (1903-1985), Fujian province Zhangzhou city Lantian town, Xiangqiao village, formerly known as Ze Tang, Yao min, Xiang Daoren, at old age known as Jiweng. He attended Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts in higher normal section in 1925, learn from three masters: Liu Haisu, Pan Tianshou, Zhu Wenyun. Back to Zhangzhou after three years, at the same time serve as a teacher in provincial Longxi Middle School, provincial Longxi Normal, provincial Longxi occupation high school, Jinde girls’ high school, Danzhi Ancient Chinese Literature Search school. Huang Jitang has trained a large number of outstanding students in his teaching period, such as Shen Roujian, Shen Yaochu, Zheng Ziyu, Peng Chong and Luoping. Huang Jitang was an artist in Provincial Political Consultative Conference studio, art consultant of Huaqiao University, librarian in the Research Institute of culture and history of Fujian Province, President of Zhangzhou Painting Academy, etc.Huang Jitang’s painting art is deeply influenced by the "Haishang school", his painting "Shanghai school" style combined with the traditional culture of southern Fujian, formed a unique personal artistic style. At the same time, Buddhism has produced certain effect on all his life and painting style. Huang Jitang’s works contain much feature of the literature, he attaches great importance to improving the quality of personality and cultural individual, emphasizes on the fun from the words, emphasizs on the verve, and building the picture artistic conception. His paintings are supported by personal culture and morality, express feelings from impressionistic technique. Most of the common objects in his paintings, describe the artistic image through their own subjective processing, is the integration of individual’s subjective consciousness and the description of the object. In addition, he did research on both high artistic thought and teaching ideas, and had his personal opinion. Therefore, a systematic and profound study on Huang Jitang and his painting art has a certain practical and theoretical significance.This paper focuses on the research from the following four aspects: firstly, base on the literature and the interviews of Huang Jitang’s son and students, combined with Huang Jitang’s times background, carding his life experience; second, divide Huang Jitang’s painting art by the stage, do research on each stage of the painting style characteristics and causes; third, analyse and sum up Huang Jitang’s artistic thought and teaching ideas in-depth; fourth, with the help of all parties objective evaluation and analysis of Huang Jitang’s painting art and personality quality, and through the understanding of his seal, making eight treatures inkpad technology, deepen the research of Huang Jitang and his painting art.
