In this thesis, through comprehensive study of Lu Xun’s works, I have analyzed and summarized the Europeanization of the vocabulary and syntax of his works. Lu Xun supported Europeanization because he aimed to improve vernacular Chinese, he was also eager to make his works more precise. The Europeanization influenced the style of his works, and in some ways made them more complicated. This thesis also discusses the Europeanization of the vocabulary used in his works to include:nouns, pronouns, qualifiers, propositions, and auxiliary.Europeanization also changes the syntax of his works in that Chinese sentences gradually changed, most significantly long sentences, into modern Chinese style. This change mainly lies in multi-attributive phrases which constitute long complicated sentences, the development of common format, multi-adverbial verb modifiers, the transformation of sentence containing "bei" and the change of word order. The above five aspects reflect the Europeanization among sentences of Lu Xun’s works in different ways.
