A Study On The Relation Among College Students’ Adult Attachment,Core Self-evaluation And Marriage Expectations

The research of marriage except in foreign has been more than 50 years and this research is already be a mature research, Dunn began this research with the scale of marriage role expectation. The research mainly deals with the characteristic of marriage expectation and the impact factors, such as:individual and social factors. In contrast domestic-related research stay in the individual subjective happiness, marriage and marital happiness research, the quality of research in love during marriage mate expectations, etc., there are few scholars take marriage expect as an independent variables to do research.In this study, On the basis of theory and practice, the author proposed the questionnaire of marriage expectation, this questionnaire consists of two parts, namely mate expectation questionnaire, relationship expectation questionnaire. And also explored the relationship between adult attachment, core self-evaluation and marriage expectation. this study reaches conclusions as follows:First, college students marriage expectation questionnaire consists of two parts, namely mate expectation questionnaire, relationship expectation questionnaire. mate expectations and relationship expectation are multi-dimensional variables.mate expectation includes openness extraversion, agreeableness responsibility, physical characteristics, and economic characteristics; the relationship expectations include marital relationship, sexual relations, kinship; and self-made questionnaire has good reliability and validity.Second, the marriage expectation of college students has differences on gender, mate expectations and relationship expectations of girls were significantly higher than boys; the marriage expectation of college students has differences on professional type, mate expectations and relationship expectations of science students were were significantly higher than liberal arts students; the marriage expectation of college students has partly differences on grade, mate expectations and relationship expectations of low-grade were significantly higher than high-grade. there is no grade differences mate expectations. whether in family source love, self-report on the relationship between parents are not significantly different.Third, college adult attachment is partly correlated with marital expectations; and mate expectations does not exist, but the relationship expectation significant correlation; the core self- evaluation was significantly associated with marital expectations. Further study found that core self- evaluation plays a intermediary role between adult attachment and marriage relationship expectation.
