Based on the questionnaire and interview, referred to 89 central Asia students in Xinjiang University and Xinjiang financial University. The thesis makes quantitative and qualitative analysis on the Chinese vocabulary learning strategies of central Asia students. The paper discusses the overall use of the Chinese vocabulary strategies of the central Asia students, the differences in the use of Chinese vocabulary strategies between different genders, motivations, Chinese levels.According to the marks, studying the differences of using vocabulary strategies between two groups; learning the differences between normal time and preparation time; Combined with the interview, knowing the reason of using vocabulary strategies.Data was collected through the use of statistical software for analysis SPSS17.0,The results show that:(1) social strategy and affective strategy are “often used” by students who prepared for HSK5 and 6, met cognitive strategy is “often used” by HSK4 students; and source strategy is “rarely used” by all students.(2)There are not significant differences between male and female when using the vocabulary learning strategies; The students with job motivation use vocabulary strategies more often than students with other motivations; there are significant differences of different levels when using social strategy, and there are not significant differences of using other strategies.(3)The students who got a high mark use vocabulary strategies more often than the students who got a low mark.(4) Compared with normal time, students use social strategy and met cognition strategy more often during this time; there are no differences between normal time and prepared time when using social strategies which is about asking learning methods to others; in the aspect of met cognitive strategy, students always use selectivity strategy.Finally, based on the results of the study, we give some suggestions on learning and teaching vocabulary. We hope it can help students realize the goal more clearly,and let teachers learn about the cognitive rules of students, make vocabulary training more effectively.
