Stone relics is an important heritage of ancient history and culture of china. With the changes of history and natural or man-made factors, these valuble cultural relics are suffering damage, need to get more perfect and comprehensive protection. Cultural relic protection personnel only in access to the present situation of stone relic information, on the basis of the complete and accurate information to formulate effective protection scheme. So, the space of stone relics three-dimensional information become an important part of cultural relics protection work is retained. So, retain the three-dimensional space information of stone relics, is become an important part of cultural relics protection work. With the advent of the era of information, this work also to enter information. Traditional way of data acquisition and data processing mode cannot have satisfied the information demand. The emergence of 3D laser scanning technology, changed the way of data acquisition and data processing model, provides a new technique for three-dimensional space information retained work.In view of the current situation of stone relics protection work. This paper take the stone Buddha of the Da Ci’en temple ruins park as the example, introduces in detail the whole process of use the 3D laser scanning technology to obtain three-dimensional point cloud data of surfaces of stone relics, the pretreatment of the point cloud data and application of NURBS surface modeling technology to reconstruction of stone relics 3D model. Summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the existing technology of surveying and mapping of stone relics. Comprehensive analysis and summarized based on three-dimensional laser point cloud data of 3D model reconstruction of the theory and method of application situation. By using the ground three-dimensional laser scanner to obtain three-dimensional point cloud data of surfaces of stone relic field scanning and implementation plan. Analyzed the wavelet filtering algorithm in the application effect of point cloud data de-noising and on the whole managements cloud data filtering. Expounds application Cyclone software to preprocess stone relics cloud data and application Geomagic software specific process to reconstruct the 3D model of stone relics. On the 3D model reconstruction of stone relics of critical theory and modeling methods are analyzed in application. Use of reconstruction of 3D model for texture map, obtain the realistic three-dimensional digital model of stone relics.Finally, in combination with the practical situation of stone relic protection, analysis summarized the protection of cultural relics and archaeological research personnel demand for 3 d model of stone relics. Preliminary discussion on use the existing point cloud data and 3D model to establish the spatial database of stone relics, the realization of digital and modernization of stone relic protection.
