The Court verdict, also known as "pan", "pan ci" or "pan wen", is the legal instruments to adjudication controversy. It is divided into the actual court verdict and the virtual court verdict in nature, prose and parallel prose in stylistics. Court verdict first appeared in the Western Zhou Dynasty, then had undergone a long process of development in the ancient Chinese society.It became consummate at Southern Song Dynasty and the actual court verdict corpus Ming Gong Shu Pan Qing Ming Ji written in prose stylistic appeared. The corpus compiled Xi Zhu, Dexiu Zhen, Ying Hu Etc. in together 28 people’s court verdict that wrote during their official tenure, and Ying Hu’s verdict occupied 1/7 in Qing Ming Ji.Ying Hu was a famous officer in Southern Song Dynasty. He was born in a Confucian family. Because his family had a long traditional of learning and strict rules, so he was not affected by the corruption status of the Song Dynasty and keep impartial and honest.During his tenure, he wrote a lot of valuable court verdict. These court verdict was deeply influenced by Ying Hu. Ying Hu’s growth process, legal literacy, thinking, attitude and even the Song Dynasty background all truthfully was reflected in the court verdict. It’s the invaluable information for studying Song History.
