Relationship between emotion and cognition is an important issue in cognitive psychology research in recent years. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of emotion on deductive reasoning. How the emotion impact deductive reasoning there are two hypothesis: Facilitation Hypothesis and Suppression Hypothesis. The former believe that emotions, particularly positive emotions easy to extract useful information that can improve people’s deductive reasoning scores, while the latter is considered emotion occupied working memory resources and affect the efficiency of the processing of reasoning and will reduce people’s achievements. Currently, the researchers have different points on how the emotion affects the nature and mechanism of deductive reasoning. In this paper, we explore how the emotion impacts the properties and mechanism of reasoning by examining the emotional materials for different types of syllogistic reasoning scores and the eye movement.Experiment one examined how emotional material impact college students to solve different problems, both difficult and low difficulty, the results show that the subjects solved positive emotions and negative emotions material is significantly lower than the neutral emotional reasoning. Experiments two investigated how emotional material impact college students to solve reasoning with different emotional and different difficulty and different types. Results show that fixation time or looking times to solve the problem of difficult longer than or more than low hard; Positive emotions and negative emotions reasoning problem of total fixation time and total fixation times significantly more than the neutral emotional material, material emotional impact solve the problem of logic- belief fixation time and at times, but has no effect on solving the problem of logic- belief conflict;Material emotional impact the first fixation time of the premise and the second period of the conclusion. The main conclusions of this study : 1,Regardless of positive or negative emotional material, emotional material will reduce the university students’ logic to solve syllogistic reasoning. 2. Emotional materials have an impact on college students’ early and late processing reasoning process.
