With the popularity of Chinese in the world, the Confucius Institute and Confucius Classroom have become a place for foreigners to learn Chinese language and culture as well as understand modern China. So, many researchers focus on Chinese language overseas. And at another hand, newspaper plays an important role in communication. Chinese newspaper is a channel for getting news, and also can reflect language feature overseas. This paper is based on my experience of teaching as a volunteer teacher in USA. During this year, I experienced local culture and got in touch with Chinese-overseas. At the same time, I collected many Chinese newspapers here and sorted out world journal and Indy Asian American Times(October 2013-June 2014).This two kinds of newspaper add up to 110,1029 layouts. World Journal is the largest circulation in USA; Indy Asian American Times, the important channel for the Kentucky people to view the China. That’s why I selected this two as my researching object. This paper focused on linguistic features of Chinese newspaper in USA involved in characters, vocabulary, grammar and rhetoric, before going on to explore the reasons. To close, a strategy to regulate Chinese overseas will be presented. Chapter 1 is the foreword which talk about background、present situation and corpus. Chapter 2 focused on Chinese paper overseas and the readers. Chapter 3 to chapter 6 studied vocabulary feature, characters feature, grammar and rhetoric feature.
