The mural “Zhenwu Comprehension Painting” in Patriarch Palace at Wudang Grinding Well was drawn at the beginning of the Qing Xianfeng years(1852), describing the comprehension story that the Zhenwu(Tien God) in Wudang vow to God and finally ranked in Jinque.With the hall rebuilt repeatedly it is saved so far, it is the only existing mural structure among the main buildings in Wudang, it is a more complete narrative comprehension Zhenwu mural.Well Grinding Mural “Zhenwu Comprehension Painting” itself does not have a list title; it was drawn not only from the content, "Records of God’s Englightenment" and other Taoist classics, but also associated with Wudang folk beliefs at that time.In this paper, targeting at “ Zhenwu Comprehension Painting ” in Patriarch Palace at Wudang Grinding Well,through field visits, I am going to analysis and study the images and the text data I obtained by combined them with Bibliography and Iconography, and compare them with Zhenwu comprehension series of images which were in the same time and has the same type.In this case, on the one hand, I probe into the murals content, story sources, image style and the religious implications of the mythical structures and mural sequence on which I focused; on the other hand, I try to sort out Zhenwu faith of Wudang Mountain region since the Qing Dynasty.
