Research On Zhen-wu Belief Of North Wudang Mountain In Fangshan County Of Shangxi Province

As one of the folk beliefs,the belief of Zhen-wu has a long history and a profound foundation belief.Up to date,large and small temples can be seen in all places of China.In the late ming and the early Qing dynasty,due to the social unrest,the Wudang Taoists were forced to go everywhere for preaching.In this period,Taoism was began to spread into the North Wudang mountain in Fangshan county of Shanxi province.Based on the field survey and combined with the tablet inscription literature,this paper takes the Zhen-wu belief of the North Wudang mountain in Shanxi Fangshan as a research object.From the circle of Zhen-wu belief formed by special geographical environment,the renovation of Chen-wu temple,the pilgrim activities etc,the author tries to analyse people's psychological utility on belief of Zhen-wu.From the historical perspective,this paper tells the inheritance and variation of North Wudang mountain's Zhen-wu belief and the relationship between the process of Zhen-wu belief's vulgarization and the people's life.First,by stating the renovation of Zhen-wu temple in North Wudang mountain,the pilgrim,the materialization of Zhen-wu temple fair,the legend,the influence of Zhen-wu belief's legend and the identity of people's Zhen-wu belief,the paper is going to display the Zhen-wu belief in a three-dimensional way,thus it presents the unique belief activities of the people.What's more,under the background of tourism industry,this paper analyses the evolution of Chen-wu belief and the status of tourism in the North Wudang mountains and states the transition in the process of the official propaganda and promotion and the weakening of people's custom.Furthermore,under the modern context,it gives some simple ideas on the inheritance of Zhen-wu belief,the development direction and so on.Zhen-wu belief is closely related to people's life and has an extremely strong vitality among the public.Nowadays,with the development of society and the change of economical way,the people's life experiences great change.In addition,on account of the prosperity and penetration of the tourism industry,Zhen-wu belief is going to continue to inherit and evolve in the society with a high speed,thus it must constantly adapt to the rapid development of modern society and the needs of the people.
