Vocabulary Research On The Checked Speech Of Refined Custom(《增定雅俗稽言》)

The Checked Speech of Refined Custom is a lexicographic monograph in Ming Dynasty.There are many vocabularies.It is not only provide abundant corpus for classical Chinese study,but also the words could be a supplement to contemporary dictionaries,and provide valuable academic materials for other subjects.This thesis focuses on the Checked Speech of Refined Custom’s vocabulary as research object,in order to investigate the folk words,find the source of the elegant words and assort them,and learn the impact for the future dictionaries compilation on lexicographical aspect.This thesis studies the vocabularies in the Checked Speech of Refined Custom.It’s divided into six parts.The first part is preface,introducing the author,version,contents and value of this book.The second part discusses the compiling features of Checked Speech of Refined Custom.The third part assorts the Checked Speech of Refined Custom’s folk vocabulary,discuss the evolution of the folk vocabulary and explain them.The forth part studies the elegant words of Checked Speech of Refined Custom from three angles—the definition and origin of elegant words,and the way into words.The fifth part discusses the value of Checked Speech of Refined Custom in supplementing the Great Dictionary of Chinese Vocabulary from four aspects,like omission ofwords,deficiency of meanings,complement of quotation and issues about doublets,etc.The sixth part mainly argues the shortcomings of Checked Speech of Refined Custom from the perspective of words interpretation,citing document and item establishment.
