The May fourth movement period is an era that pursues freedom and equality, democracy and science. During that time, Woman writers first emerging from “the horizon of history”.They aligned with each other for the common belief in life. They broke away from the situation that talked by male writers, and opened a new way of self-expression. The writing about “sisterhood” so became an intuitive means of expression that for them to revolt traditional gender hierarchy and to pursue women independent consciousness and the personality equality. In the “sisterhood” works, some of them expressed the sympathetic emotion among sisters, some of them delighted with the pure friendship among sisters, and some of them addicted to the happy feelings of lesbianism among sisters. However, the tragic ending and excessively feminine aesthetic experience of “sisterhood” works rationally exposed the fantastic of “sisterhood” writing, and deconstructed the myth of female bonding.After reading all research materials of “sisterhood” writing in the academic world,I found out that the vast majority of studies focus on manifestation, and concerned too little about the forming reasons, the failure reasons and the art strategy of “sisterhood” writing. On this account, the thesis attempt to explore the historical factors, the time factors and the personal factors of “sisterhood” writing during the May fourth movement period, which was depended on close reading. And then categorically discuss the diversity and complexity of the“sisterhood” manifestation. Finally, reveal the writing predicament of “sisterhood” by the May fourth female writers, according to the discussion of failure ends and art strategies of the“sisterhood”.
