Comparative Study On Complementary Of Confucianism And Taoism And Constructive Postmodernism

The Complementary of Confucianism and Taoism as the main characteristics of the traditional Chinese culture, it is the embodiment of the spirit of the Chinese and a phenomenon of the ancient thoughts. It is necessary to realize that the Confucianism and Taoism are the complementarity and connectivity. Simultaneously, as a major thought in today’s world, constructive postmodernism in China is starting to get people’s attention. To some extent, Constructive postmodernism with Confucianism and Taoism has the similarity. Many scholars also study respectively on comparing constructive postmodernism with the Confucianism or Taoism. But it is too less that doing the research between the Complementary of Confucianism and Taoism and Constructive postmodernism. Therefore, this article regards the complementary of Confucianism and Taoism as the whole, and through the comparative analysis with Constructive postmodernism, draws a conclusion that the two have similarities and connectivity. The purpose of this study is using constructive postmodernism to eliminate western misunderstanding of Chinese culture, especially The Complementary of Confucianism and Taoism, for providing a new path to spread traditional Chinese culture.It is the same that The Complementary of Confucianism and Taoism and the Constructive postmodernism were born in the social crisis and thought crisis. They, on the basis of critical inheritance on the predecessors’ ideas, develop their own theories,and provide a new approach to solve the crisis of society and thought. It can be said that both of them are the inevitable outcome of the development of the human mind. The Complementary of Confucianism and Taoism and Constructive postmodernism also have the similarity on philosophical ontology. Confucianism and Taoism both inherited the thought of "Tao", and comprehensively deepen the connotation of "Tao" as the cosmos. And the becoming and changing of "Tao" has resemblance with the concept- "process", which is important in the philosophy of constructive postmodernism, namely process-related philosophy of Whitehead. Hence both of them have common ground on philosophy. The Complementary of Confucianism and Taoism and Constructive postmodernism have harmony in social and political aspects.The idea of Complementary of Confucianism and Taoism consider people as in the relationship, and through the perspective of the ruler it explains that how to control people by "Wu Wei" and adjust the relationship between human beings. Also, in constructive postmodernism theory, Empathy Thought which is based on the Pan-experientialialism, and the Democracy with Dao which comes from the Empathy Thought, both of them can integrate with the political thought of Complementary of Confucianism and Taoism.They both have the same understanding of the essence of man, which is that people is in the relationships and the feelings are the foundation of the relationships.Anyway, there is close relationship between the two. Thus, the Complementary of Confucianism and Taoism can use for reference of Constructive postmodernism tospread the China traditional culture. And it can draw lessons from the beneficial thoughts of Constructive postmodernism for development of its philosophy theory and the social and political thought.
