Baoji, where a great number of precious and significant ancient archaeological sites are preserved as the passage of history, is looked upon as the one cradle of the Chinese civilization. However, over half of the archaeological sites of rich value are located in the rural areas. Faced particular destruction factors and protection problems, the sites have unique characteristics which are different from those in other areas such as the urban and the suburban. To be specific, the major damage comes from the normal production and living activities of the local villagers, e.g. the land-grabbing for farming purposes and the housing building. In addition, the archaeological sites are too fragile to withstand the erosion of wind and rain the loss of water and soil in the long historical process. Compared with the natural invasion, anthropogenic destructions are more threatening to the archaeological sites. Therefore, it is a thorny issue for the researchers and the local heritage conservation department to not only resolving the contradiction of the sites conservation and the local farmers’ living, but also proposing some certain solutions to protect the sites efficiently.Based on the problems discussed above, three resolving strategies of the conservation of the archaeological sites in Baoji rural areas are proposed by the deep research and analysis in this thesis. The thesis is organized as follows.First of all, through the field investigation and the text reading methods, some preliminary information such as the quantity, type and distribution, etc. of the archaeological sites is colluded.Besides, through the field investigation, the current destruction factors and the preservation situations of the sites including the protection divisions, organizations, facilities and management measures are illustrated, and then three main problems are pointed out. The first one is the sites are suffered from the natural and the anthropogenic destructions, yet meanwhile, lack of necessary protection measures. The second one is the protection divisions are not planned clearly and reasonably, or even uselessly. The third one is the protection funds are not sufficient, and the protection system is not valid. Finally, aimed to resolving such three main problems discussed above, three relevant conservation strategies are put forward. On one hand, the protection measures should be strengthened to reduce the destructions from various aspects. The measures mainly includes readjusting the agriculture structure, prohibiting the land-grabbing activities in the site areas, setting the protection management agencies equipped with the protection facilities and the management personnel, etc. These measures could help preserve the present status and avoid more anthropogenic destructions of the archaeological sites to most degree. On the other hand, the archaeological exploration should be strengthened to help plan the protection divisions reasonably, and then the planning should be put into force. What’s more, the protection funds should be increased, and the protection system should be developed. To include, the study on the archaeological sites in Baoji rural areas has great significance in the research of the Chinese civilization.
