Since the 1990 s, foreign research on court interpreting has gained satisfying results. On the basis of the foreign literature published from the year of 1990 to 2014, this study reviews the foreign studies on court interpreting over the past 25 years. Through quantitative analysis of the collected literature, the author expounds three major changes of the studies in the certain period with the aim to present a general profile of the dynamic evolution of foreign studies on court interpreting over the 25 years. Through the analysis of methodology for foreign studies on court interpreting and detailed descriptions of and objective comments on the major research results and researchers’ viewpoints under various research themes on court interpreting, the author concludes the defects of these studies in the certain period and indicates the trends of foreign research on court interpreting in the future. Serving as an analytical overview of the foreign studies on court interpreting over the past 25 years, this thesis introduces the advanced results of foreign research in this field, aiming to provide the researchers in related fields with the knowledge and comprehension of the court interpreting research at the macro level.
