In the 1980 s, “rewriting literary history”was once a hotspot in the world of academy.For old literature history’s shortages and limitations,much efforts has been put to “rewriting literary history” in vary perspectives and methods by scholars.It has been decades from the "rewriting literary history" movement,but now,when "rewriting literary history" is mentioned,people will still reflective thought of "rewriting literary history" movement in 1988.Therefore,based the overall understanding of "rewriting literary history" or the consideration of writing of modern literary history,it is both necessary to review and comb the specific meaning of "rewriting literary history".For which is not only useful for us to understand how an an excellent literary history come out during the process of "rewriting literary history",but also beneficial to us to pick up experience and guide the writing of Chinese Morden and Comtemporary Literature History.Because although the "rewriting literary history" has been terminated,the writing of literary history will be continued.The entry point of this essay is the "rewriting literary history" movement and the dissertation is divided into four chapters: the first chapter mainly summarizes the “rewriting”behavour before the movement.It includes the following parts:"ricritic" in the end of 1970 s and the beginning of 1980 s and the writing of mainland Chinese literary history,the influence of research results on oversea Chinese literature in the early 1980 s and the raising of overall concept of literary history in the middle 1980 s. Arranging them in chronological order,on the one hand is to prove that although the name of "rewriting literary history"hasn’t been clearly put forward,the "rewrite" consciousness and behavior often embodied in the actual literature research; on the other hand, combing the "rewriting" behavior is not only can elicit and explain the historical inevitability of the "rewriting"movement,but combine them together also can make up the so-called "rewriting literary history"climate in the 1980 s. The second and third chapter is the core of the full text, mainly described the "rewriting literary history" movement itself.Such as the background(political and academic point of view, geographical cultural perspective),the discussed issues in the process(" the dispute of "rewriting "," standard ", etc.) and the meaning(limitation and theory achievement). The last chapter mainly give examples and comparative analysis the practical results from the ”rewriting” movement.Because no matter how many limitations or theory achievements the movement have,the most can reflect its value must be a "new" literary work,and this kind of "new", is no longer just “copy” again and again,on the contrary, it is a qualitative transition and a historical viewpoint of literature transition.
